School Acoustics (BB93)
Classrooms > Sports Halls > Common Parts
We provide a unique free of charge acoustic assessment, consultancy and design service to schools suffering from poor acoustics.
In the late 1990's, awareness of poor acoustics in schools led to the production of Building Bulletin 93 (BB93), a regulatory framework that requires all schools to be built to high acoustic standards, with new build schools subject to mandatory inspections.
We believe that all schools, not just new build, should benefit from good acoustics which are so important to an optimised teaching environment.
Our acoustic solutions for schools will ensure that these acoustic requirements are met, achieving the recommended reverberation times in all areas of the school premises. Ensuring both new build and existing schools benefit from the best acoustic environment.
The recommended reverberation time for primary school classrooms is <0.6s and secondary schools is <0.8s. The acoustic treatments we deliver will increase the acoustic performance to those levels, cost effectively and with many design opportunities.
